General note In his last years, the elderly apostle John sat on the Aegean Isle of Patmos and wrote out what he saw in visions. From then to the present, readers of the Revelation have found interpreting its symbols and messages a challenge. How one interprets Revelation depends largely on the set of "reading glasses" one wears while studying the book.<br/><br/>Today, many such glasses are available, but not all of them can be accurate. Some newer lenses lead to erroneous views and conclusions.
