Faith in Depth and Relevancy is a collection of thirty-two essays by a wide variety of authors, spread throughout Europe and even beyond. They not only have in common that they work (or have worked) in the Seventh-day Adventist
Church, but also that in their assignments they have had a close association with Dr Bertil Wiklander, to whom these essays are dedicated. This Festschrift covers many different topics, but in some way or another they all express what the title of this book wants to convey. The Christian faith is simple, but at the same time it must always be in search for more depth. It has been enriched by the study, the experiences and traditions of the ages, but it must speak to the people of today with new power
and clarity. This has been Dr Wiklander's passion as he
has led his church - in Sweden and, during no fewer than nineteen years, as the President of the church in one of the world divisions of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. This Festschrift is a fitting tribute for a man who has ever had the goal of helping the church to grow in its faith - in depth and relevancy. -- back cover.
